Who is the DAS?
The DAS stands
for the Delaware Anime Society. We are a group of individuals with interests in
Japanese anime (animation), manga (comics), music, and pop culture. We hold
meetings via three chapters across Delaware and Philadelphia areas. These
chapters are DAS Dover, DAS Wilmington, and DAS West Chester.
Are you associated with Delaware Anime Fans
(DAF)?
Currently, we are not associated with DAF. They are an independent club. For more information about them go to http://www.delawareanimefans.com.
What do you think of other anime
clubs?
We recognize with the growing fandom of anime, there are many
anime clubs throughout the Northeastern United States, and we encourage our
members to attend as many anime clubs as they wish. We also support Anime Clubs
Unite, an organization that connects anime clubs from all over the
world.
What do you do?
Each chapter holds free
monthly showings of Japanese animation. Often times, we also include video
gaming, raffles, and other events during the meetings.

What is the age range?
Members
of all ages are welcome at our meetings. However, it is important to note that
anime has genre types that span across many age ranges, and there is material
out there that may not be appropriate for a younger audience. Please contact
your chapter’s president for specific ratings at your next meeting.
What is your policy on "hentai” or “adult” material?
The
DAS makes it a rule never to show hentai or x-rated material.
What is your rating policy?
All Ages (A) – Nothing
objectional
Teenagers (T) - May contain bloody violence, bad language,
nudity
Mature (M) - May contain sex, drugs, and extreme graphic
violence
Hentai (H) – Adults Only! Contains explicit sexual content. Never
shown at DAS meetings or events.
Is the anime you show
subbed or dubbed?
We show both subtitled and dubbed anime at our
meetings based upon members’ requests.
What is a
Bootleg? Do you have a policy regarding Bootlegs?
Bootleg is a term
that usually refers to an item or goods that are illegally sold and distributed.
In other words, bootleggers make money off something they never really owned.
The DAS does not have a policy regarding bootlegs, but we do not support the
selling or distribution of such items.
Do you have a
mailing list?
Each chapter has their own mailing list. Members should
strongly consider joining one or more of the mailing lists to keep updated on
upcoming events and meeting changes.
