The DAS Kanameijis had a great time trying out our new meeting space at the Abington Free Library and we made a visit to book the scenic and beautiful Margaret Grundy Library for our Saturday meetings. Games were played, anime was watched and we topped it off with a big slice of oreo cake at TGI Fridays afterwards.

The DAS Kanameijis had a great time trying out our new meeting space at the the scenic and beautiful Margaret Grundy Library for our Saturday meeting on 2/24/07. Games were played (emphasizing Guitar Hero II), anime (such as 12 Kingdoms and FMP Fumoffu) was watched and we topped it off with some burgers at Burger King after the meeting.

Our DAS Wilmington Chapter continued on with the other chapters tradition of having a video game extravaganza and it was so popular that we're going to have it every couple months! We gained alot of new members and new and old members ended up hanging out at Wendy's after the meeting. Vivia la projector play and Taiko drums!!

Another great DAS Wilmington meeting full of card games, raffles, bake sales, anime, video games and old and new friends. We saw a bunch of returning new members and first time new members as well as the usual crew. Fun was had by all and most of the group went out to the Charcoal Pit for dinner afterwards, in typical DAS fashion.

We had a Wii-tastic meeting! Several members got a new Nintendo Wii right at its first release and the club enjoyed use of it for the first time! After the meeting we went out for Chinese buffet. ** Picture credit goes to the lovely and talented Kawaii_Nai**

The DAS Dover June meet was a big success. Members brought baked goods to sell, and bought alot of tickets in the raffle. We earned a good amount of cash from this day, amidst having alot of fun!

We had a ton of things to raffle including 3 DVD's, 3 shirts, keychains, posters, pins, plushies, CD's, notepads and alot more.

DAS members often gather with our "family" that is the Superior Comics staff and friends to go to dinner after our monthly meetings. We had a huge turnout this month! Also, we're going to need more chairs soon- we're running out of chairs and space given all the newcomers we keep getting. And someone was nice enough to give us club members free drinks this month. Thank you Superior!

DAS has our "Omake" meetings in addition to regular meetings each month. we have a special theme for these meetings. This month the theme was "Schoolgirls, Dollies and Mecha' where members brought in their figures and dolls to showcase, we had a schoolgirl cosplay contest sponsored by Superior Comics, and we watched themed anime. It was also the debut of our brand new club projector so we can now watch anime and video games on the big screen!

Since Superior is undergoing renovations DAS Dover tried out a new meeting place, Aliya's Cyber Cafe
which is a pretty cushy place with home like atmosphere, private meeting rooms,Xbox rooms, gaming computers, food and fun!We had a regular meeting to start, and alot of fun!

DAS had another Omake meeting. This month's theme was 'Make your favorite anime or other character into a sock puppet and perform a skit'
It was pretty fun although due to popular demand and some folks who couldnt make it, we're going to have it again during next meeting. In addition the DAS's new Japanese friend Kanae-san attended the meeting and made a puppet of her own in addition to drawing us some nice fanart!

We had our first meeting in our new room in Superior which we cleaned out and renovated in August 2006. Highlights included a nice raffle and a new projector screen.

Featured at this meeting was Full Metal Panic The Second Raid (show), Best Student Council (show), Love Hina, Baselisk, and more. Gamewise we had Singstar ROCKS!, Karaoke Revolution, DDR, Super Smash Brothers Melee and Kingdom Hearts II. There was also pizza (as usual) and many hi-jinks to be had.

Our first meeting at our new location at the Dover Public Library. The library was so kind to us that they even gave us free snacks and drinks!Fun was had by all and our random pick was the 'Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya'. After the meeting a bunch of us went out for dinner at the Chinese Buffet. All in all we gained about 6-7 new members from ages 18-25 too!

Another fun meeting at the Dover library. Featured this time was a plethora of anime titles such as Haruhi Suzumiya, Zombie Loan and Gundam00. Members had fun making shadow puppets, playing DDR, Guitar Hero, Super Smash Brothers and Naruto Ultimate Ninja and the turnout was great. As usual we ordered pizza. Charity donations for our yearly giving started out with a bang!

Kosaikon was a great success for the DAS! We had several members attend with us and represent our club. Amongst the goings on there were 2 video rooms, a gaming room, and an artist's alley. Attendance was double what the Kosaikon staff had anticipated but they still managed to make things run smoothly and everyone had a wonderful time. Our club members spent time in both of the theaters and could be seen singing Karoke Revolution and our South Chapter President won an honorable mention for her Princess Zukin in the costume contest. We made several new friends sitting at our booth in artist's alley and everyone loved the newest t-shirt design done by Nico Deyo and the new Kitty Poof plush mascot care of KittysDrawer.com.

Otakon went fabulously well for the DAS. We got to network and hand out flyers, we got to sell some of our great merchandise, and alot of our club members who were there got to hang out and go to events like the Saturday Night Parodies, out to dinner and just have fun together. Thanks to all who helped out in Artist Alley. We met tons of new DE and local area friends and new members for the club, too. More thorough report posted soon!

Many members from the DAS attended Anime USA 2005. We got to go to several panels together and attend the OtakuBooty party together. Several of the DAS attendees also were able to attend the Move concert, too. It was a blast and many of us intend to go next year.

Katsucon marked another DAS gathering and club trip(about 10+ of us carpooled and roomed together). Our CEO was honored by being asked to host the Anime Club summit panel, and it went very well. DAS members gathered on and off throught the convention to hang out, take photos and attend various events together. Much fun was had by hanging out with our friends at OtakuBooty.com. We also had our DAS ad in the Katsucon program book and made many new friends with individuals and other anime clubs.

Otakon 2006 was a very busy time for the DAS! Members were involved with various things whether it be working for FUNimation Entertainment, winning an award for skits in the masquerade, getting inteviewed for a documentary, working the club's artist alley table and more! We had several meetups during the con and our annual club dinner on Friday night.

We had a great time at Katsucon 13!
DAS members were seen in and out of the Karaoke rooms, the Cosplay and the main lobby working for Funimation, and showing up at the occasional panel such as OtakuBooty, and elsewhere getting into the general con mayhem (such as the Org. XIII pajama party). We had a Friday night lobby meetup and a tasty lunch at Chipotle on Sunday afternoon as we were getting ready to leave.

Tmode 2007 was a unique experience for D.A.S. because our members won 15 FREE Tickets to attend the event due to a wonderful club sponsorship program. Members from all 3 chapters gathered and roomed together. D.A.S. members engaged in various activities,from rocking out to 'Armcannon', 'Peelander Z', Natz from 'Rusika' and 'The Captains' to meeting voice actors, going out to dinner, laughing hard at 'Geek Comedy Tour 3000' or just unleashing the DAS force on downtown Crystal City, we all had a blast!

The DAS took a trip up to Washington DC to see the Otakorp and Smithsonian Anime Marathon and to meet up with our cosplaying friends and affiliates at the DC Anime club!

DAS had a nice table with flyers, merchandise and info about our club outside of Superior Comics for Dover Days. We also had anime trailers showing at the table. Downstairs at Superior we had a movie and gaming marathon going on all day. We met a bunch of new members and many of us got another chance to all wear the club shirts ^^

Puffy AmiYumi live at the 930 Club in Washington DC. Ended up as a multi-group trip as we had representatives from the DC Anime Club, UMES Anime Club, the Delaware Anime Society and also a couple representatives from Funimation.

The DAS took a trip up to Washington DC to hang out with the DC anime club on one of their Video Game Days. It was great fun, the DAS members made a bunch of new friends, and we all went out for sushi after the meeting. Also, the DAS let the DC anime club use our new projector so that combined with theirs, there were two video gaming sessions going at once!
Members of the clubs played such games as Tekken and Puzzle fighter and other games on the wall of the meeting room.

DAS carpooled up to the Nat'l Cherry Blossom Festival Sakura Matsuri. Despite the rainy icky weather we had alot of fun! We had a record turnout of 22+ people, met up with members of the SOS Club, saw the Jefferson Memorial, briefly stopped at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, had fun wandering the Japanese Street Fest, and topped it all off with a dinner at the Wok-n-Roll Restaurant in Chinatown. We also met new club members and friends along the way. We look forward to returning again next year!

Zenkaikon was asked to host an Anime Viewing Room at theCelebrate Japan! Festival at the UPenn Museum on 10/7/06. The crew of DAS and Zenkaikon met up and helped run the room as well as a promo table where we took club signups and discounted Zenkaikon Registrations. There was a tremendous show of support by the DAS PA chapter and other chapters and we picked up a bunch of new members along the way.Attendees had fun watching anime titles such as the Fullmetal Alchemist Movie! After the Fest, many of us went out for sushi at Azia and were joined by Zenkaikon guest Alex Strang and his wife.

DAS had the priveledge of marching in the 14th Annual St Pattys Day Parade on 3/17/07 in Dover. Despite the cold we had a decent turnout of folks. There were over 110 entries and over 1200 parade spectators! Much thanks to Barbei, owner of the flower shop Bows and Blooms by Barbei, located on W. Loockerman St. She let us hang out in her shop and meet her cat Sweetpea, as well as donating decorative green ribbons to all the DAS marchers! Two of our youngest members Mel and Allie had the crucial role of helping carry the banner and our shamrock parade entry number. After the parade some of us went to IHOP for hot cocoa and food!

DAS was asked to host the Anime Video room at the 2007 Celebrate Japan Festival in Philly. We showed titles, had a table with Zkon advertising the club and selling merchandise, and enjoyed the festival. After the fest, many members went out to eat at Han Wool, an asian fusion restaurant. After that, several of us went to the SOS Anime Clubfor their Asian Games night. Much fun was had by all!

DAS had two tables at the 2007 Dover Governor's festival. We sold our merchandise, got the word out about the club, had a craft table and were entertained by the various things the festival had to offer. Apparently we also talked to Governor Ruth Anne Minner who was glad we were there!

Pictures from the DAS Halloween party 2004

The DAS put on what was most likely the first anime minicon in Delaware on 10/23/04 at the AmericInn at Harrington, DE. Featured was a movie, food, gaming, costume contest, raffle, and rave. The members had a good time and many great prizes were given out! The club made from $300-400 off the con and it was a big success for the DAS.

DAS's second minicon went really well! Its an annual thing and we intend to keep putting it on. Featured this year was karaoke, prizes, screenings, video games of many different kinds and a rave.

DAS's 4th annual Halloween Minicon kicked off with a bang at the Dover American Legion this year. We had two rooms, one for main events and one for anime videos.
Included was karaoke, cosplay, food, gaming, raffle a rave, and more! This year we even had two vendors, Sabahgirl and Christy Schaffer. Cosplayers made a splash doing several skits and we had a record turnout of over 60 people! We plan to use the venue again next year.

The DAS gathered in Dover on 3/5/05 to watch House of Flying Daggers on the Big screen at the newly restored, historic Schwartz Theater! We had a great time and made sure to request more asian cinema to be shown there :)

Due to our support and feedback @ the House of Flying Daggers Showing in March 2005, Schwartz Center for the Arts in Dover, DE asked the DAS to put on a program for their premiere of 'Howl's Moving Castle' on 9/4 and 9/7/05. Program included: intro to the movie, cosplay demo, discussions of anime vs American Cartoons, Miyazaki and other topics, handouts and more. The event was a big success, with 80-100 people attending each night. DAS members from all chapters attended the event and many went out to dinner. Due to our efforts, the Schwartz Center will be procuring other Anime and Asian films such as '2046'.

Zentrancon 2005 was DAS's first bigger con that we put on,but our second con overall. It was a big success for the club. We had around 365 people come, the dealers room was well received and our guests of honor Corinne Orr (Speed Racer's Trixie) and Alex Strang had a blast and want to come back again for Zcon 2006. Oh and lets not forget our happy raffle, cosplay and video game tourney winners too :D

The DAS 2005 Christmas Party was held at Kahunaville in Wilmington, DE on December 17th, 2005. There was a really good turnout and good times were had by all. There were many games played, especially DDR. Hopefully this is the first of what could become an annual tradition.

The DAS combined with the PDMNZ CD Shoppe had a Karaoke and Video game event on 2/5/06 at the William Way Community Center in Philly. The winner of the contest was Annie while contestant Sara came in 2nd.

DAS and the West Chester University Anime Club teamed up to put on a Chinese New Year Event on 2/4/06 in West Chester, PA. We had alot of fun with trivia, lectures, martial arts demos, food, video games, anime, favors and fun. The WCU Anime club lead by Ashley T did a great job on the Chinese paper Lanterns and other decorations and contributed some sushi to the food table! We also had members from the Henderson High Anime club attending. Both clubs had a great turnout and we plan on working with our friends again for events in the future !

THe DAS was asked by the Brandywine Hundred Library in Wilmington, DE to put on an anime program. We decided to have a 'Miyazaki Fest' including movies, lectures, discussion, cosplay demo, snacks, and more. The Brandywine has also asked us to do another anime program this Fall. After the program, the DAS members went out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays at the Concord Mall. Some random folks at the restaurant saw our club shirts and joined the club on the spot! We also gained several members who attended our program
